Dealing with Greed – Texts from Bhagwad Gita

The texts from the Bhagwad Gita are curated to help deal with the feelings of greed. The Sanskrit texts and their corresponding translations are given below.

Take time to read and understand their core meaning and message, and I hope this helps in elevating the issues with greed.

Chapter 14 – Text 17

From the mode of goodness, real knowledge develops; from the mode of passion, grief develops; and from the mode of ignorance, foolishness, madness, and illusions develop.

Chapter 16 – Text 21

There are three gates leading to this hell – lust, anger, and greed. Every sane man should give these up, for they lead to the degradation of the soul.

Chapter 17 – Text 25

One should perform sacrifice, penance, and charity if they actually desire liberation. The purpose of such transcendental activities is to become free from the material entanglement.
