Tritiya - Maa Chandraghanta
The third day of Sharadiya Navratri is dedicated to Maa Chandraghanta.
Significance: She is known as Chandraghanta or Chandra-Khanda because of the semi-circular moon (Chandra) that appears like a bell (Ghanta) on her forehead. As she is ever ready to fight battles, similarly she is quick to remove all obstacles and misfortunes of her devotees.
Colour: Imbibe the colour Royal Blue on this day to celebrate the sense of trust, worthiness, and reliability.
Mantra:
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ चंद्रघंटा रूपेण संस्थिता
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः
पिण्डजप्रवरारुधा चण्डकोपास्त्रकैर्युता
प्रसादम तनुते मह्यं चन्द्रघण्टेति विश्रुता
Translation: May that Durga Devi, who rides on Tiger, who is endowed with intense anger and violence and is renowned by the name of Maa Chandraghanta, bestow her grace on me.
