Dealing with Depression - Texts from Bhagwad Gita

The texts from the Bhagwad Gita are curated to help deal with the feelings of depression. The Sanskrit texts and their corresponding translations are given below.

Take time to read and understand their core meaning and message, and I hope this helps in elevating the issues with depression.

Chapter 2 - Text 3

O son of Parth, do not yield to this degrading impotence. It does not become you. Give up such petty weakness of heart and arise, O chastiser of the enemy.

Chapter 2 - Text 14

O son of Kunti, the non-permanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons. They arise from sense perception, O scion of Bharat, and one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed.

Chapter 5 - Text 21

Such a liberated person is not attracted to material sense pleasure or external injects, but is always in trance, enjoying the pleasure within. In this way, the self-realised person enjoys unlimited happiness, for they concentrate on the Supreme.
