Dealing with Practicing Forgiveness - Texts from Bhagwad Gita

The texts from the Bhagwad Gita are curated to help deal with practicing forgiveness. The Sanskrit texts and their corresponding translations are given below.

Take time to read and understand their core meaning and message, and I hope this helps in elevating the issues with practicing forgiveness.

Chapter 11 - Text 44

You are the Supreme Lord to be worshiped by every living being. Thus, I fall down to offer You my respects and ask Your mercy. Please tolerate the wrongs I many have done to You and bear with me as parent is to their children, or a friend is to their friends, or a lover with their beloved.

Chapter 12 - Text 13,14

The one who is not envious but is a kind friend to all living entities, who does not think of themselves as a proprietor, who is free from false ego, who is equal in both happiness and distress, who is always satisfied and engaged in devotional service with determination and whose mind and intelligence are in agreement with Me – they are very dear to Me.

Chapter 16 - Text 1,2,3

The Blessed Lord said: Fearlessness, purifications of one’s existence, cultivation of spiritual knowledge, charity, self-control, performance of sacrifice, study of the Vedas, austerity, simplicity, non-violence, truthfulness, freedom from anger, renunciation, tranquillity, aversion to fault-finding, compassion, freedom from covetousness, gentleness, modesty, steady determination, vigour, forgiveness, fortitude, cleanliness, freedom from envy, and the passion for honour – these transcendental qualities O son of Bharat, belong to godly men endowed with divine nature.
