Chapter 2 - Text 60
यततो ह्यपि कौन्तेय पुरुषस्य विपश्चितः
इन्द्रियाणि प्रमाथीनि हरन्ति प्रसभं मनः
The sense is so strong and impetuous, O Arjun, that they forcibly carry away the mind of even of a person of discrimination who is endeavouring to control them.
Chapter 2 - Text 61
तानि सर्वाणि संयम्य युक्त आसीत मत्परः
वशे हि यस्येन्द्रियाणि तस्यप्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता
One who restrains their senses and fixes their consciousness upon Me is known as a person of steady intelligence.
Chapter 2 - Text 70
आपूर्यमाणमचलप्रतिष्ठं समुद्रमापः प्रविशन्ति यद्वत
तद्वत्कामा यं प्रविशन्ति सर्वे स शान्तिमाप्नोति न कामकामी
A person who is not disturbed by the incessant flow of desires – that enter like rivers into the ocean which is ever being filled but is always still – can alone achieve peace, and not the person who strives to satisfy such desires.
Chapter 7 - Text 14
दैवी ह्येषा गुणमयी मम माया दुरत्यया
मामेव ये प्रपद्यन्ते मायामेतां तरन्ति ते
My Divine Energy, consists of three modes of material nature, is difficult to overcome. But those who have surrendered unto Me, can easily cross beyond it.
