The seventh day of Sharadiya Navratri is dedicated to Maa Kaalratri

Significance: In this form, She is the dark-complexioned avatar of Maa Parvati that she attains by liberating the golden outer sheath. She is the destroyer of evil and negativity.

Colour: Imbibe the colour Orange on this day to celebrate the sense of warmth and exuberance.

Mantra:

ॐ ऐं ह्लीं क्लिं चामुण्डायै विच्चै

एकवेणी जपाकर्णपूरा नग्न खरास्थिता

लम्बोष्ठी कर्णिकाकर्णी तैलाभ्यक्तशरीरिणी

वामपदोल्लसल्लोहताताकण्टकभूषणा

वर्धनमूर्ध्वजा कृष्णा कालरात्रिर्भयंकरी      

Translation: May the Bhayankari Maa Durga who is with long lips, riding a donkey, shining in various hues, looks formidable because of the halo of Devi's lustre and is adorned with multi coloured ornaments, remove my darkness of ignorance.
