The eighth day of Sharadiya Navratri is dedicated to Maa Mahagauri

Significance: She attains this form after destroying the demons and is also the embodiment of Goddess Parvati.  This is the most auspicious form of the Devi, as it symbolizes that whoever can understand the meaning of Maa Kaalratri’s darkness, can attain fairness in life.

Colour: Imbibe the colour Peacock Green on this day to celebrate the sense of ambition, goal, and energy.

Mantra:

या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ गौरी रूपेण संस्थिता

नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः

श्वेते वृषे समरूढ़ा श्वेताम्बरधरा शुचिः

महागौरी शुभं दद्यान्महादेवप्रमोददा

सर्वमङ्गल माङ्गल्ये शिवे सर्वार्थ साधिके

नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः      

Translation: May the Mahagauri Ma Durga who rides a white Vrishaba the bull and who wears spotless white clothes and remains ever pure and also provides everlasting bliss to Mahadev Lord Shiva bestow all auspiciousness.
